Heroes: Sigurd, Vladimir, Malik, Rowena, Storm
Year 645 MR (1st quarter)
The White Witch sends envoys to King Sigurd, to demand compensation for Vladimir's attack. Sigurd appoints Rowena to handle the situation, and she strips regency of three of his provinces from Vladimir. She also issues a decree limiting the creation of unapproved emples in her lands.
Storm and Sigurd travel to Stjordvik to propose Storm as a husband for princess Astrid, daughter of king Varri of Stjordik. The king seems agreeable, but as proof of loyalty and skill, he asks that they bring him his rebellious jarl Fardolf, so that he may face judgement for his many offenses.
Unfortunately their timing is a bit off, as Malik has already planned to assassinate Fardolf to repay him for a previous slight: as they arrive at the jarl's longhall, he dies of poisoning. After a short fight with his warriors, Sigurd and Storm manage to make a deal with Fardolf's right hand, the warrior Aldwulf. They will lie about the circumstances of Fardolf's death, and suggest that Aldwulf fought valiantly to protect his jarl, deserving to be the next jarl.
When their return to King Varri with their story, things go as planned, but the King proposes that Storm be appointed as jarl of the province of Arvaald, so that he may be nearer to the princess, and get to know her better.
